Hi! I got my Phd and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), in 2003 and 2007, respectively.

Since, 2009, I work as an assistant professor at the Institute of Economics (IE), State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil.

Since 2020 I'm an associate professor, and given that I have fun with data and modeling issues, my research continues in the Applied Economics field, as a member of both, the Center for Applied Economics, Agriculture and Environmental Research (NEA+) and the Center for Industrial Economics and Technology (NEIT).

As you will see on this page, I lecture Statistics and Introduction to Econometrics, Mathematics for Economics (general for undergrad and with focus on dynamic systems for grad courses), Social Network Analysis (grad), and Simulation Issues, for the undergraduate course on Economics and for graduate courses on Economic Theory and Economic Development programs.

My CV is here. Also, you can see my academic profile on my Lattes CV (Brazilian Research Platform, in Portuguese).

Research lines

My research can be grouped into three (big) blocks:

  1. Modeling and Simulation, where I work with Time Series Models, but lately I'm dealing with Social Network Analysis and Machine Learning techniques within the Complexity Economics field.

  2. Industrial Dynamics and Technology, because I enjoy the Evolutionary Theory of economic growth and believe that innovation and knowledge can really move our region towards sustainable development. Therefore, I have fun using microdata bases to produce empirical research in this field of Heterodox Microeconomics.

  3. Productive Structure and Economic Development, because I'm always trying to find out how to make Latin America greater, considering our structural heterogeneity and our inequalities.

You can find more about me on Google Scholar, Researchgate, Regina (Peruvian Research Platform) and ORCID. And if you want to know more about Latin America, go to Economia Latinoamericana (ELA, in spanish or portuguese).
